Dear Sir,

Salutations for the Festive Season and a Happy New Year from Hampton Towers. I apologise for being unseasonably late in the fraternal greetings, but the in-laws have just vacated the South wing after a long and arduous visit! No more ankle-biters sucking at the antique Chesterfield. Yahoo... Now I can get back to my usual pleasures. Inga is also pleased, to say the least...

Once more the Pavilion Pantomime season drops it`s trousers to the world. I`m pleased to hear there has been an upturn-if not in the economy-in the amount of people paying good money to see two young Aussie `Soap` stars pitting their wits against the complexities of British humour.

I see by the front page of the Echo (8/1/94) that the said Stars signed photos of themselves for a local charity at £1.00 a throw. This bodes well for other personalities that appear `on the boards.` Will we have signed photographs of Hugh Lennons hypnotic dog!! If so, my Doberman will give a fiver to any Charity of your choice.

While I`m on about local theatre, I`d like to thank Mr Alan Marsh and his team for the welcome I received when I went to the College production of `Feet` on the 8th of December. Inga had a problem with the seat spacing though. She had to sit with her knees bent double under her chin!

In your article `Children learn all about the ocean waves` (Echo 12, January) I was impressed by the photograph by Mr Steven Belasco of the cast of `Tess Goes To Sea` especially the female student in white in the middle. She could polish my pewter anytime she likes...

My Nurse Inga, she of the high pressure bidet and surprised look wishes to be remembered to you. She asks when the next `Miss Weymouth` is being staged? She would like to know as her legs are so long it takes three months to shave them...

Yours, as always,

GENERAL P.M. HAMPTON Esq. (Rtd.) etc, etc.
